Who are Minger and Lee?
Grandmaster Pung Young Lee and Grandmaster Ray Minger met in Korea almost forty years ago. And since that time they have been determined to bring Traditional Tae Kwon Do to America.
Grandmaster Pung Young Lee began his martial arts training during the Korean War as a young child. During high School and College, he captained Tae Kwon Do Teams and was a former champion. He holds a 9th degree Black Belt from the Korean Tae Kwon Do Association and is certified as a World Class Referee. He was also an instructor with the R.O.K. Army. In Seoul, he graduated from Han Yang University with a degree in electrical engineering. Lee is active in his Church and the Korean Community. He is married and has two sons who are Black Belts.
Grandmaster Ray Minger earned his Black Belt while stationed in Korea in 1965; previously he had studied Shotokan, Ky Kushin Kan, and Army and Marine hand-to-hand combat. Upon his discharge from the Army in 1966, he opened one of the first Tae Kwon Do schools on the East Coast. Later he sponsored five Korean Master Instructors to help with his school. Minger received his B.A. from La Salle and his M.E. from Temple. He spent 30 years with the Bensalem School District and after retirement has taught history in area Catholic, private, and Alternative High Schools. Minger is married with four adult children, and six grandchildren. He currently holds a 7th degree Black Belt.
Grandmasters Minger and Lee have a staff of dedicated Black Belts that have many years of teaching experience. They feel proud of their students' many achievements.
